The app can only find your tracker once it's powered on and close by. Here's exactly what to do — it's the same instruction the app gives you on the Turn on tracker screen.
Step-by-step
- Hold the side button for 3 seconds. It's on the right edge of the tracker.
- Wait for the screen to show. The tracker should light up green as well.
- Keep it next to your phone. Within arm's reach works best.
- Tap It's on — start looking to begin the search.
Tip: if the tracker's screen is already lit, it's already on — you can skip ahead.
After it powers on
Once the tracker is running and connected to your account, you may get a notification reading "{your pet}'s tracker was powered on — Tracking is active again."
Turning the tracker off
There is no power-off control in the Ask A Vet app — the tracker is powered on and off with its physical side button. If the tracker is switched off, you'll get a notification saying "{your pet}'s tracker was powered off — You won't receive location updates until it's back on."
[CONFIRM: how long the side button must be held to power the tracker off, and what the different LED colours or blink patterns mean beyond the green power-on light.]
If nothing happens
- Make sure the tracker is charged. [CONFIRM: how the tracker is charged and roughly how long a full charge takes.]
- Hold the button for the full 3 seconds. A short press is what the app tells you to use to wake the display of a tracker that's already on — powering one on needs the 3-second hold.
- If the screen still never lights up, contact support. [CONFIRM: support contact channel to list here.]
