Booking a call with a vet takes six short steps, and a progress bar at the top shows you how far along you are. Here's the whole flow from start to finish.
Start the booking
- Tap the centre ASK A VET button on the bottom tab bar.
- Tap Book a call with a Vet.
- Read the Call pricing modal, which shows the prices for 15 and 30 minutes at both the Premium and Regular rates.
- Tap Proceed.
Tip: you can also start from the Consults tab (Book a call with a Vet on the empty Telehealth list), from the Calendar tab, or from a pet's profile → Consults → Telehealth Calls → Schedule a call about {pet name}. Starting from a specific pet skips the Select pet step below.
The six steps
- Select pet (20%) — tap the pet the consultation is about. If you don't have a pet yet, tap Add pet first.
- Select Vet (40%) — browse the available vets. You can search by name and filter by Date and Time (the time filter unlocks once you've picked a date, and moves in 15-minute intervals).
- Select date & time (60%) — pick a date on the calendar at the top, choose the length under Select duration (15 minutes or 30 minutes), then tap a slot under Select time.
- Consultation details (80%) — choose Video call (camera on) or Audio call (camera off), then describe the problem under "Add details to help your vet understand" (for example, "appetite decreased after meds"). You have up to 2,000 characters and a live counter shows how many you've used.
- Review call details (100%) — check the veterinarian, price, pet, date, start time, duration, consultation method and your details, then tap Confirm and pay.
- Complete payment — a Stripe Checkout page opens inside the app. Enter your payment details and confirm.
Please note: all dates and times are shown in your own time zone. If the vet is in a different one, the app tells you underneath Select time.
Your slot is held for 15 minutes
As soon as you tap Confirm and pay, the slot is reserved for you for 15 minutes. Finish checkout before the hold runs out, or the slot is released and no charge is made.
The payment page itself doesn't show a timer — if you leave checkout and open the booking from the Consults tab, you'll see a Reserved for MM:SS countdown there.
Tip: if you accidentally tap Confirm and pay twice, don't worry — you won't be charged twice. The button pauses briefly and repeat taps reuse the same checkout page.
After you pay
Payment alone doesn't confirm the call. Your chosen vet still has to accept the booking — until then the status reads Awaiting vet, and if they never accept, the booking is cancelled automatically and refunded in full.
