A greyed-out Log In button simply means the screen is still waiting on something. Nothing is wrong with your account — here's what to check.
Why this happens
The Log In button only becomes tappable when all of these are true:
- a role has been selected (Pet owner or Veterinarian)
- the email field contains a valid email address
- the password field isn't empty
- no sign-in attempt is already running
- the verification-code sheet isn't open
How to fix it
- Check the role card. By far the most common cause is that no role has been chosen yet. Tap Change on the role card and pick I'm a Pet Owner or I'm a Veterinarian, then tap Continue.
- Check the email field. It needs to be a complete address — a missing "@" or domain leaves the button disabled.
- Check the password field. It can't be empty.
- Close any open code sheet. If the Verify your email sheet is showing, finish or dismiss it first.
- Wait a moment. If you already tapped Log In, the button stays disabled until that attempt finishes.
Tip: if you tap the greyed-out area and nothing happens but you're sure the form is filled in, the missing piece is almost always the role.
The same thing happens on other screens
Ask A Vet keeps action buttons disabled until their form is complete, so you may see this elsewhere:
| Button | What it's waiting for |
|---|---|
| Reset password | A valid email address |
| Confirm on the new-password screen | A password that meets the complexity rule and a matching confirmation |
| Permanently delete account | At least one deletion reason selected |
