Connecting your tracker takes about two minutes from start to finish. This article walks through the whole flow, from the pet's profile to clipping the tracker onto the collar.
Before you start
- An active Tracker Plan or Premium subscription.
- A pet profile created in the app — pairing always starts from a specific pet.
- The tracker charged and with you.
- Bluetooth switched on on your phone.
Step-by-step
- Open your pet's profile and tap the GPS Tracker row. It shows Not connected with a Connect button.
- On the intro screen — "Let's connect {your pet}'s tracker!" — tap Get started. The caption confirms setup takes about 2 minutes.
- Allow Bluetooth, then Location, if the app asks. If you've already granted both, these screens are skipped automatically and you go straight to the next step.
- Turn the tracker on: hold the side button on the right edge for 3 seconds, wait for the screen to show, and keep the tracker within arm's reach of your phone. Tap It's on — start looking. (If the screen is already lit, you can skip ahead.)
- The app searches for about 5 seconds, then shows We found these. Find your tracker's 8-character ID in the list and tap the + button next to the one marked Ready to pair.
Tip: only the + button starts pairing — tapping the card itself does nothing. If nothing was found, tap Search again.
- Watch the four steps run: Finding the tracker → Introducing {your pet} → Saving to your account → Final checks. Keep the tracker close; this part takes about a minute.
- When you see GPS Tracker successfully paired!, tap Continue setup.
- Work through the short setup wizard: Add pet measurements, then the firmware updates for the tracker.
- On Your tracker is also a pet ID tag, choose what a finder can see, then tap Save & Continue (or Skip for now).
- You'll land on {your pet} is all set! with a summary of what's now switched on. Tap See {your pet} on the map.
Last step: the collar
Clip the tracker onto your pet's collar — everything else is already done.
Backing out part-way
Please note: the setup screens — the intro, the permission screens, Turn on tracker, the tracker list and any error screen — carry a Cancel action in the header that takes you back to the pet's profile, and nothing is charged if you back out there. Once the four pairing steps start, the header goes away and there's no Cancel: the run finishes on its own, either on the success screen or on an error screen.
If something goes wrong
Each failure has its own named screen with a short explanation and a way forward. Some offer Try again (for example "We couldn't reach the tracker" and "The tracker didn't answer"); others don't, because retrying can't help — "This tracker is already in use" only offers Choose another tracker, "This one isn't supported" only offers Back to the list, and "This tracker hasn't been online yet" only offers Pair via Bluetooth. See the troubleshooting articles below for what each one means.
