Video consultations are paid for one call at a time — there's no bundle and no monthly allowance. The exact amount always comes from the app itself, so the price you see on screen is the price you pay.
Where to see the current price
- The Call pricing modal, which opens when you tap the centre ASK A VET button → Book a call with a Vet. It lists Premium subscription: prices with a Save {amount} badge, and Regular: prices underneath.
- The Review call details screen, which shows the exact price for the call you're about to book.
- Your subscription screen, where the benefits are listed as "Telehealth: {price} per call".
There are four prices in total: 15 minutes and 30 minutes, each at a regular rate and a discounted rate.
Please note: consultation prices are set by Ask A Vet and can change, so we don't publish fixed figures in this help centre — always check the Call pricing modal for the current amounts. Billing is in [CONFIRM: the live billing currency shown to customers — USD or AUD].
Who gets the discounted rate
The discounted rate applies to Premium subscribers only.
| Your plan | What you pay per call |
|---|---|
| Premium | Discounted rate |
| Tracker Plan | Regular rate |
| Free account | Regular rate |
How you're charged
Payment is taken through a Stripe Checkout page that opens inside the Ask A Vet app on the Complete payment step. The line item reads "Ask A Vet 15-minute telehealth consultation" or "Ask A Vet 30-minute telehealth consultation", depending on the length you chose.
Your account email is passed to Stripe, so Stripe emails you its own payment receipt. You'll also get a Payment received notification in the app.
Important: paying does not confirm the booking. Your vet still has to accept it. If they don't accept before the scheduled start time, the booking is cancelled automatically and refunded in full.
Are any consultations included in my plan?
No. No subscription plan includes free or discounted-allowance consultations — every call is paid for individually. Premium only changes the price per call.
The price looks out of date
The app keeps pricing information for up to an hour, so a price change may take up to an hour to appear in an app you've had open. Close and reopen the app to refresh it sooner.
If prices can't be loaded at all, the app never guesses: price labels show a dash ("—") and the Call pricing modal says "Pricing is temporarily unavailable. Please check your connection and try again in a moment." Check your connection and try again.
