Sorry to see you go. Deleting your Ask A Vet account is something you can do yourself from the app, and it takes about a minute. Because it can't be undone, we confirm it with an emailed code and a final prompt.
Before you start
Important: deleting your account is irreversible. Please read "What happens when you delete your Ask A Vet account" before you start, and make sure you've dealt with any active subscription first — see "Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?".
Step-by-step
- Go to Settings and tap Delete account.
- Read the warning on the Delete Account screen: "Deleting your account will remove all your data, including your profile photo, pets, and any questions or answers you've submitted."
- Under Why are you deleting your account?, tick at least one reason. You can tick more than one: - I no longer need the app - I found a better app - The app has too many bugs or issues - There are too many notifications - The app is difficult to use - The app lacks important features - Other (please specify below)
- If you tick Other (please specify below), type your reason in the box (up to 1000 characters). The delete button stays greyed out until you do.
- Tap Permanently delete account. We email a 6-digit code to your account address, shown partly masked on the screen (for example d•••••@example.com).
- Enter the code in the Verify your email sheet and tap Verify.
- Confirm the final prompt — "Are you sure? You want to permanently delete your Account? Remember, this action is irreversible." — by tapping Delete. Tap Cancel if you've changed your mind.
- You'll land on a confirmation screen: "Your account has been successfully deleted". Tap Close to sign out and return to the Sign Up screen.
Time limits to be aware of

Please note: account deletion is available on both pet-owner and veterinarian accounts.
Changing your mind
Tapping Cancel on the final prompt, or simply closing the screen before confirming, leaves your account completely untouched. Ignoring the deletion email does the same.
Once you've confirmed, there is no in-app way to undo it. If you have questions, contact support@askavet.com.
