You're not missing a hidden setting — the Email row on My Profile is read-only on purpose. Here's what that means and what to do if your address really does need to change.
Why the row won't open
Your email address is the anchor of your Ask A Vet account. It's the address every security code goes to — sign-in codes, password resets and account-deletion codes — and it's how we identify your account. Because of that, it's shown on My Profile for reference but can't be tapped or edited, and there is no self-service email-change flow in the current app.
What you can change yourself
From My Profile (tap your avatar in the app header):
- Full name
- Phone
- Address details
- Timezone
- Password
- Profile photo
If your email address needs to change
Contact us at support@askavet.com from the address currently on the account if you can, and tell us the new address you'd like to use.
Please note: [CONFIRM: whether support can change a customer's email address on request, and the process/verification required]
Keep your email reachable
Because codes only ever go to the address on your account, it's worth making sure you can still receive mail there:
- Add the Ask A Vet sender address to your contacts so messages don't land in spam.
- If you're about to lose access to an email address (a work account you're leaving, for example), get in touch before you lose it.
Important: if you can no longer receive email at your account address and two-factor authentication is switched on, you won't be able to sign in — contact support before that happens.
