After the tracker is paired you'll see "Before we start, your tracker needs a little more setup to work properly." Tap Continue setup and the app walks you through three short steps — this article covers what each one does.
Step 1 — Add pet measurements
The Add pet measurements screen asks for your pet's height and Body Length, to personalise the tracker with their measurements. These get written onto the tracker itself, which is why they're asked for here.
If you're not sure how to measure, the screen has built-in guides — How to measure height and How to measure body length — each with three steps and a few tips.
Tip: have a friend help keep your pet still while measuring.
Tap Save when you're done, or Remind me later to skip. You can always add or change them afterwards from GPS tracker settings → Pet measurements.
Step 2 — Module firmware update
This updates the tracker's Bluetooth chip, and it's sent from your phone over Bluetooth.
- If you paired over Bluetooth, this step is required.
- If you paired by scanning the QR code, it's offered but skippable.
Important: this one runs over the Bluetooth link, so keep the tracker nearby and the app open until it finishes. When the tracker restarts to install it, it may appear off for a few minutes — that's normal, and the app reconnects on its own.
Step 3 — Main firmware update
This updates the tracker's main software. Unlike the module update, the tracker downloads this one itself over its own mobile connection — so keep the tracker powered on and online rather than glued to your phone. It restarts to finish, and may appear offline for a few minutes.
Your pet ID tag settings
Next you'll see Your tracker is also a pet ID tag — "Your tracker's QR code doubles as a pet ID tag. Anyone who finds your pet can scan it to see this info and help bring them home."
You choose what a finder can see:
| Detail | Default |
|---|---|
| Your phone | On |
| Your email | On |
| Your address | On |
| Last located | Off |
| Vital information | Off |
| Vet clinic | Off |
| Family contacts | Off |
| Additional information | Off |
Tap Save & Continue, or Skip for now to decide later.
You're all set
The last screen is {your pet} is all set! — "Clip the tracker onto the collar — everything else is done." It confirms the tracker is paired, live location is on, and health tracking has started. Tap See {your pet} on the map to go straight to tracking.
