Ask A Vet is designed so you rarely have to type your password. Here's how long a sign-in lasts and what makes it end.
How long a sign-in lasts
Your sign-in is renewed automatically in the background while you use the app:

In practice, opening the app at least once a week keeps you signed in indefinitely. If a renewal fails, the app returns you to the Login screen and you simply sign in again.
Your sign-in details are stored in your device's secure storage — the iPhone Keychain or the Android Keystore — which can only be read while the device is unlocked.
What signs you out
- Tapping Logout at the bottom of Settings (that device only).
- A renewal that can't complete.
- Ask A Vet support disabling the account — that user is signed out at the next renewal, so within roughly an hour.
What does not sign you out
Please note: logging out on one device does not log you out on your other devices, and changing your password does not sign your other devices out either.
If you think someone else has access to your account, change your password and then log out of Ask A Vet on any device you no longer want signed in. For extra protection, turn on two-factor authentication so a password alone isn't enough to sign in.
Tip: logging out also clears your saved role, so the "Tell us who you're signing in as" sheet will appear the next time you sign in.
