You attached a file to a calendar event expecting it to show up in your pet's Documents library, and it isn't there. Don't worry — it's almost always a matter of where you're looking.
1. Check what the Files hint says
Open the event and look under the Files section:
- "Files are also saved to your pet's documents." — copying is active for you. Move on to the next check.
- "Upgrade to also save files to your pet's documents." — tap Upgrade to see the plans. The file is still attached to the event either way. [CONFIRM: whether the copy into Documents is actually withheld when this hint is shown — no plan check was found on the copying itself]
2. Check which folder it went to
The document is filed by event type, not by the file's name, so it's rarely in the folder you'd expect:
| Event type | Look in |
|---|---|
| Vaccination, Worm Treatment, Flea Treatment, Tick Treatment | Vaccinations |
| Buy Medicine, Give Medicine | Prescriptions |
| Everything else | Other |
The title is "Event type — YYYY-MM-DD", using the event's date — not the file's original name.
3. Check you're looking at the right pet
The document is filed under the Pet Name on the event, which isn't always the pet whose library you happened to open. Open the event, check which pet it's set to, then open that pet's Documents.
4. Repeating events copy only once
Only the original event mirrors its files. The 30 generated occurrences don't, so you'll find one document, not 31 — that's intentional.
5. Refresh the list
Folder lists and counts are cached for about a minute. Pull down on the folder's list to refresh it.
6. Files attached with an older app version
Attachments added before the app's file-upload upgrade are never copied into Documents. If an old event's file is missing:
- Edit the event.
- Remove the file with the × on its tile.
- Attach it again.
- Save.
It will be copied across this time.
When to contact support
If you've checked the right pet's folders, refreshed, and a freshly attached file still doesn't appear anywhere, contact the Ask A Vet support team with the pet's name and the event's date and type. [CONFIRM: support contact channel — email address and/or in-app support route]
