The report fails on "Save and report"
You may have hit the daily limit
Each person can submit up to 10 danger reports in any 24 hours. Past that, submissions are refused — but the app shows the same general message, so there's nothing on screen to tell you apart from the count.
If you've reported a lot today, that's almost certainly it. The limit rolls, so you'll be able to report again as your earlier reports pass the 24-hour mark.
Check your connection
Submitting a report needs your phone's internet connection. It does not need your tracker to be online or connected over Bluetooth. Move somewhere with better signal, or switch between mobile data and Wi-Fi, then tap Save and report again from the Review details step.
Check your photos
Only image files are accepted: JPEG, JPG, PNG, HEIC, HEIF and WebP. Anything else is refused when the report is submitted, and you'll see the same general failure message. If you attached something unusual — a screenshot recording, a live photo exported oddly, a file from a messaging app — remove it and try submitting without photos to confirm.
"Continue" is greyed out
- On Select hazard type, you need at least one hazard type selected. Note that changing the category clears the types you'd already picked, so re-select them.
- On Add details, a description is required. The field takes up to 500 characters.
A photo won't attach
If you see "We couldn't attach that photo. Please try again.", the tile reverts and nothing is saved. Try:
- Picking the photo again — this often works first time on a retry.
- Picking a different photo, to see whether it's that one file.
- Checking you have three photos or fewer. Three is the maximum per report.
Please note: Photos come from your photo library only. There's no camera step inside the wizard, so take the picture with your camera app first.
"My location" is greyed out
If the My location card is disabled with "Location access is turned off", allow location access for Ask A Vet in your phone's settings — or just use Search a place and drop the pin on the map instead.
When to contact us
If submissions keep failing on a good connection, with no photos attached and well under ten reports that day, get in touch and tell us roughly where and when you tried. [CONFIRM: support contact channel and hours]
