Files and limits
Which file types can I upload?

What's the biggest file I can upload? 100 MB, in every folder.
How many documents can I store? There's no limit on the number of documents and no storage quota. The only limits are per file.
How long can an in-app recording be? Audio recording is capped at 5 minutes; video recording stops automatically at 2 minutes.
AI analysis
Can the AI read my videos? No. Videos are stored and can be played, but they're never analysed — the Analyze with AI button is hidden in the Videos folder.
Are chat files analysed automatically? Yes. Files you send in AI Vet Chat or Certified Vet Chat are saved and analysed in the background.
Is the AI summary a diagnosis? No. It summarises what the document says and flags things worth asking about — it won't give a diagnosis unless the document itself states one, and it will tell you to contact a vet or emergency vet if something looks urgent.
Vets, family and privacy
Do my vets see my documents? Each document has an Allow our vets to see this document toggle, switched on by default, with the note "Vets you're chatting with can view this on their side." Do family members see my pet's documents? Yes, for pets you've shared with them. They need the family edit permission to add, edit or analyse anything, and only you — the owner — can delete.
Can a family member on a free plan use the library? Yes, as long as you (the pet's owner) are on Premium.
Expiry, retention and browsing
Will Ask A Vet remind me before a document expires? No. Expiry dates are stored and shown on the document row, but no reminder is sent when one passes. If you want a nudge, create a calendar event for the renewal — see "How to create a calendar event".
Can I search my documents? Not today. Browse by folder; inside a folder, documents are listed newest first.
Can I download everything at once? No — documents are shared one at a time from the … menu. [CONFIRM: whether a bulk export of a pet's documents is planned]
What happens to my documents if my Premium ends? They stay and remain viewable. Adding, editing, deleting and analysing pause until Premium is active again.
What happens if I delete the pet? The pet's documents are removed with it.
