If a number in the app hasn't moved for a while, it's usually just the reporting rhythm rather than a problem. Here's how often each kind of data arrives.
Health data — roughly once an hour
Steps, bark count, sleep and the temperature highs and lows are reported in hourly buckets. The collar flushes its counters at the top of each hour, so today's figures fill in as hourly lumps rather than continuously.
Please note: A single reporting period can carry up to 500 barks.
Temperature — with the tracker's status report
The ambient temperature comes in as part of the tracker's regular status report, and it's that reading which drives the cold, hot-warning and hot-critical alert bands.
During a Separation Anxiety Monitor session — faster
While a session is running, we work harder for you:
- We re-check your dog's figures every 5 minutes.
- We ask the collar for a fresh report at most every 15 minutes.
That's a deliberate balance — asking more often would drain the tracker's battery, so alerts can still lag the behaviour by a while.
Settings you change — retried hourly
If the collar doesn't confirm a bark alarm or temperature threshold you saved, we automatically re-send it once an hour until it does. You don't have to do anything.
What this means in practice
| You're waiting for | Expect it within |
|---|---|
| Today's bark or step count to update | About an hour |
| A separation anxiety alert | Up to about an hour after the behaviour |
| A saved setting to reach the collar | Up to an hour, retried automatically |
Tip: Standing near your pet lets the app reach the collar over Bluetooth, which is the quickest way to get settings across.
