Both paid plans — the Tracker Plan and Premium — can be billed monthly or yearly. Yearly costs less over the year; monthly gives you more flexibility. Here's how to tell them apart in the app.
Choosing a cycle
- Open a paid plan card. Each one has a Monthly and a Yearly tab.
- Tap the tab you want. The price on the card updates to match.
- Tap Upgrade now.
The Yearly tab carries a -16% savings badge.
How prices are shown
Each card shows a headline price per month, plus a second line with the full amount for the year and how it's billed. So a monthly subscription shows what you'll pay each month and what that adds up to over a year, while a yearly subscription shows the equivalent monthly cost and the single yearly amount you'll actually be charged.
Tip: The Plans screen always shows live prices. Check there rather than relying on figures quoted anywhere else.
Switching between monthly and yearly
Switching your billing cycle counts as a plan change:
- You'll see a confirmation dialog explaining the proration before anything happens.
- It takes effect right away — you're not charged the full new amount on top of what you've already paid.
- You can only change your plan once per billing period, and that limit covers cycle changes as well as plan changes.
- You'll get a "Your Ask A Vet subscription changed" email confirming it.
Extras follow your cycle
If you pay for additional pets on Premium, or for extra tracker slots, those are billed on the same cycle as your plan — yearly plans get yearly extras, monthly plans get monthly extras.
