Blank or zeroed activity figures nearly always mean the tracker's readings haven't reached the app yet, rather than anything being broken. Here's how to tell which is which.
Jump to:
- Everything shows zero
- "Hourly breakdown not available"
- "Not enough sleep data"
- My goals reset to the default values
- The weekly figures look far too big
- The screen closes as soon as I open it
Everything shows zero
The collar hasn't sent readings for that range.
What to check first:
- Is the collar switched on and charged?
- Is your pet actually wearing it?
- Is the collar in mobile coverage, or close enough to your phone for Bluetooth?
To pull data through straight away:
- Stand next to your pet.
- Open the Ask A Vet app and go to Activity & stats.
- Leave the screen open for a minute — the app asks the collar for new readings every 5 seconds while it's connected, and the screen refreshes on its own when data arrives.
"Hourly breakdown not available"
This means the day has totals, but the collar hasn't sent the hour-by-hour detail for it. The app deliberately shows this message instead of drawing bars it can't back up.
There's nothing to fix — the totals for that day are still valid.
"Not enough sleep data"
Same cause, for sleep: the detailed hourly information for that day is missing, so night sleep, quality, interruptions and phases can't be worked out. Keeping the collar worn, charged and in coverage is what fills these in.
My goals reset to the default values
If you see exactly 60 minutes, 10,000 steps, 5.0 km, 1,200 kcal and 6 hours, your saved goals probably couldn't be loaded and the app is showing the defaults instead of failing.
- Check your phone has mobile data or Wi-Fi.
- Leave and re-open Activity & stats.
Your saved goals should come back. If they don't, set them again — see "How to set an activity goal for your pet".
The weekly figures look far too big
This week and Past 7 days multiply the daily average by 7, for both the figure and the goal. They aren't raw weekly totals. "How to read your pet's Activity & stats dashboard" explains this in full.
The screen closes as soon as I open it
You don't have permission to view that pet's GPS tracker, so the app returns you to the pet's profile. See "\"Tracker access restricted\" when opening a walk or Activity & stats".
Still stuck?
If the collar is charged, worn and reporting its location normally but activity figures stay at zero for more than a day, contact Ask A Vet support [CONFIRM: support contact route to publish here].
