Every document (except videos) has an Analyze with AI button. Tap it and Ask A Vet reads the file for you, explains it in plain language and points out anything worth asking your vet about.
How to run it
- Open the document → Document details.
- Tap Analyze with AI. The button shows a spinner and Analyzing... while it works.
- When it's done you'll see an Analysis complete message and the results appear on the same screen.
Once a document has been analysed, the button reads Re-analyze with AI.
What you get back
The results appear as sections under the file:
- AI summary — what the document says, in plain language
- Document type — what kind of record it recognised
- Matched pet — a chip reading Matches pet, Does not match or Unclear, plus the reason
- Key details
- Important dates
- Possible concerns
- Suggested actions
Empty lists show as "None found". You'll also see an AI Analyzed chip at the top, and an AI suggested chip if the folder was chosen for you.
What it reads
The analysis looks at the file itself, your pet's profile, and the folder the document sits in. That last part matters: the same file analysed in Lab tests gets a different focus than in Insurance.
It can read images, PDFs, spreadsheets and CSV files, and audio (which is transcribed first). Videos are never analysed — the button is hidden in the Videos folder.
Automatic filing
Automatic filing only applies to documents the app filed for you — chat attachments and files copied from a calendar event. When one of those is analysed and the result is highly confident about which folder it belongs in, the document is moved there and its title, issued date and expiry date are filled in for you. That's what the AI suggested chip means.
Documents you uploaded yourself stay where you put them. You chose the folder when you saved it, so analysing it adds a summary but never moves it or rewrites its title and dates.
Files you send in AI Vet Chat or Certified Vet Chat are analysed automatically in the background. Anything the AI isn't confident about lands in Other.
What it will not do
Important: The analysis is not a diagnosis. It won't offer one unless the document itself states one, and if it spots something that could be urgent it will tell you to contact your vet or an emergency vet. It's also instructed never to invent dates, names, measurements or results that aren't in the file.
