Uploading a vaccination card, a lab result or a photo of a prescription takes under a minute, and once it's saved it travels with your pet everywhere the app goes.
Add a document
- Open your pet's profile → Details tab → Documents.
- Tap Add document at the bottom. (If you've already opened a folder, the button reads Add document when the folder is empty, or Add category document when it already has items.)
- Choose a Category from the dropdown. If you started from inside a folder, this step is skipped — the document goes into that folder.
- Enter a Document title. This is required and can be up to 200 characters — the placeholder suggests something like "e.g. Annual wellness exam".
- Optionally switch on Issued date and pick the date the document was issued.
- Optionally switch on Expiry date and pick when it runs out.
- Leave Visible to vets on if you're happy for vets to see it, or switch it off.
- Tap the upload card and choose your file (see below).
- Tap Add document to save.
Please note: If you switch a date toggle on but don't pick a date, saving shows "Issued date is required" or "Expiry date is required". Saving with no file shows "Please attach a document".
Choosing the file
Tapping the upload card opens an Add Document sheet. What it offers depends on the folder you're saving into:
| Folder | What the sheet offers |
|---|---|
| Most folders | Photos & Videos, Upload File |
| Images | Take Photo, Choose from Library |
| Audio | Record Audio, Upload Audio File |
| Videos | Record Video, Choose from Library |
What you can upload
| Folder | Accepted formats |
|---|---|
| Any general folder | JPEG, PNG, HEIC, PDF, Excel, CSV, MP3, MP4, MOV |
| Images | JPEG, PNG, HEIC, WebP, GIF |
| Audio | MP3, M4A, WAV, AAC |
| Video | MP4, MOV |
The maximum file size is 100 MB, in every folder.
Important: The Images, Audio and Videos folders only accept their own media type. Picking anything else shows "Wrong file type — This category only accepts image / audio / video files."
Recording inside the app
| Recording | Maximum length |
|---|---|
| Audio | 5 minutes |
| Video | 2 minutes — recording stops automatically |
The app will ask for permission the first time. If you've previously denied it, you'll see "Microphone access is off" (or "Camera and microphone access required to record a video.") with an Open Settings button.
After you tap Add document
The file uploads and the document appears at the top of its folder straight away. Stay on the screen and keep a stable connection until it finishes.
Tip: You don't need to re-upload things you've already sent in AI Vet Chat or Certified Vet Chat, or a telehealth recording — those are filed for you automatically.
