Short answers to the questions owners ask most about the community hazard map.
Who can see a report I submit?
Every Ask A Vet pet owner whose map covers that area. Hazard reports are community-wide on purpose — a warning is only useful to the people about to walk past it.
Is my name shown on my report?
No. The person who reported a hazard is never identified to anyone.
The only profile pictures on a report belong to owners who tapped Still here to confirm it. Your own vote is visible to you, and everyone else sees only the totals.
Does reporting cost anything, or use up an allowance?
No. Danger reports aren't tied to any plan, and they don't count against any quota. The only limit is 10 reports per person per 24 hours.
Can I edit a report?
No. Remove it and submit a new one — see How to remove a danger report you submitted.
Can I report a hazard without a GPS tracker?
In the app today, Report danger lives on the GPS Tracker map's + menu, which you only reach once a tracker is registered to one of your pets. So in practice you need a paired tracker to report or browse hazards. [CONFIRM: whether owners without a tracker are meant to have their own way in, and if so where]
Are photos required?
No. You can add up to three, from your photo library, and skip them entirely if you'd rather.
Why does a report show coordinates instead of a street name?
We turn the pin into a street address where we can, but that doesn't always work — remote spots and new developments often have no address to match. When that happens the report shows coordinates, and the alert says the hazard is "{n} m away from your pet's location" rather than naming a street. The pin itself is still exactly where it was placed.
What happens to my reports if I delete my account?
They stay on the map, with no name attached. Hazard information deliberately outlives the account that created it. If you want a report gone, remove it before deleting your account.
Can Ask A Vet remove someone's report for me?
There's no way to flag a report to us from inside the app right now. Use It's gone — two owners agreeing removes a report automatically. [CONFIRM: whether the support team can remove an abusive or false report, and how owners should ask]
