You tapped Report lost expecting the lost report form, and instead got a page about QR Tags. Don't worry — nothing is broken, and there's a quick way through.
What you're seeing
The screen reads:
Your pet doesn't have a QR Tag yet
If your pet ever gets lost, a QR Tag helps anyone instantly contact you and bring them home faster.
with a Buy Now button and a Not now button.
Why this happens
Lost Mode is built around your pet's QR tag page. That page is what a finder reads, and it's what the Share link points to. When you tap Report lost from the Safety tab and the pet has no active QR tag, the app shows you this page first rather than letting you fill in a report nobody can reach.
How to fix it
If you already have a tag
Activate it and link it to this pet, then come back and tap Report lost again. The QR Tag section of this help center has the step-by-step.
Tip: If your pet wears an Ask A Vet GPS tracker, the QR code on the tracker itself can act as your pet's ID tag. That counts too.
If you don't have a tag yet
Tap Buy Now to open the Ask A Vet ID tags page in your browser. [CONFIRM: tag pricing and shipping regions, if the help center should state them here]
If you need to report your pet right now
You can still record the report immediately:
- Go back to your pet.
- Tap the … menu on the pet.
- Choose Report as lost.
That route opens the form directly, with no tag check. Your pet is marked as lost, the missing date is recorded, and your scan alerts are armed for whenever a tag is activated.
Please note: Without an active tag there's no page to share, so the Share button on the Report review screen won't appear. Only Continue without sharing is shown.
If it still doesn't work
If you have activated a tag for this pet and still get the QR Tag page, close and reopen the app, then try again. If it keeps happening, get in touch — [CONFIRM: support contact channel and hours].
