Stuck on the WiFi step, or seeing an error you don't recognise? Don't worry — there's a manual route out of every one of these, and you can always type the network name in yourself.
Jump to:
- "Tracker offline"
- "Couldn't reach your tracker"
- "No networks found"
- A network is greyed out
- You've reached the 5-zone limit
"Tracker offline"
"Your tracker is offline. Connect it to set up a power-saving zone."
The scan needs the tracker reachable. Make sure the collar is charged and switched on, and give it a moment to reconnect. If you'd rather not wait, tap Add network manually and type the WiFi name.
"Couldn't reach your tracker"
"We couldn't reach your tracker. Make sure it's on and try again."
The tracker didn't answer within 20 seconds. Tap Try again, or use Add network manually.
"No networks found"
"Your tracker didn't see any WiFi networks nearby. Move it closer to the router and search again, or enter the WiFi name yourself."
Remember the scan happens on the collar, so its position is what counts — bring the tracker close to the router and tap Search again.
A network is greyed out
- Already added — that network is already one of your power-saving zones for this tracker.
- Name has unsupported characters — the network name contains a quote mark, tab or line break, which can't be sent to the tracker. [CONFIRM: whether support should advise renaming the network or offer an alternative.]
You've reached the 5-zone limit
"You've reached the maximum of 5 power-saving zones."
Each tracker holds 5 power-saving zones. To free a slot:
- Open your Power saving zones list.
- Tap a zone you no longer need.
- Tap Delete zone.
Other messages you might see
- "That WiFi network is already a power-saving zone."
- "Enter the WiFi name" / "WiFi name must be 50 characters or fewer" / "WiFi name can't contain quotes, tabs, or line breaks"
- "Enter a zone name" / "Zone name must be 50 characters or fewer" / "Zone name can't contain quotes, tabs, or line breaks"
- "Tracker not found or not owned." — the tracker isn't paired to this account.
Your phone's WiFi doesn't matter
Your phone's own WiFi list is irrelevant here. The tracker does the scanning, so a network your phone can see but the collar can't won't appear — and you don't need to be connected to the network yourself.
