You can move between the Free Plan, the Tracker Plan and Premium at any time from Settings. What happens next depends on whether you're subscribing for the first time or changing an existing paid plan.

Where to find your plans
- Open Settings.
- Tap Subscriptions to open Your Plan.
- Tap Manage plan.
- Tap Explore plans ("Compare Free, Tracker, and Premium"). On the Free Plan that button reads View subscription plans and takes you straight there.
- On the card you want, choose the Monthly or Yearly tab.
- Tap Upgrade now (moving to a lower plan is labelled Downgrade).
Subscribing for the first time
Your phone's browser opens the secure checkout page. Complete the payment, then the confirmation page returns you to the app after about 10 seconds — or tap Open Ask A Vet now. Your new plan activates automatically.
Changing from one paid plan to another
There's no browser step. You'll get a confirmation dialog first — Switch to {Plan}? (or Downgrade to {Plan}?) — explaining exactly what you'll be charged. Tap Switch plan (or Downgrade) to confirm, or Not now to back out.
When it's done you'll see the confirmation "Your plan has been updated." and you'll be returned to the previous screen.
How the price difference is handled
Switching takes effect right away, and you're credited for the unused part of your current plan:
| Change | What you're charged |
|---|---|
| Upgrading | The prorated difference, charged today |
| Downgrading | The difference appears on your next invoice as a credit |
After that, you're billed the standard price of your new plan.
Please note: You can change your plan once per billing period. If you try again too soon you'll see "Plan change unavailable" with the date you can change again.
Going back to the Free Plan
The Free card's button is always disabled — you can't select Free from the plans screen. To return to Free, cancel your subscription and let the paid period run out. See "How to cancel your Ask A Vet subscription".
