AI Vet Chat is a Premium feature. Here's exactly what that means for your account and your pets.
Which plans include it

If you tap any AI Chat entry point without Premium, you'll see the Upgrade to Premium card instead of the chat.
There's no monthly cap on AI Vet Chat. The plan benefits list shows it as Unlimited AI Vet Chat — as many conversations and as many messages as you need.
Please note: real vet chats work differently. Premium includes 2 Certified Vet Chats per month, which is a separate, limited allowance. Only the AI side is unlimited.
Premium covers every pet
Premium is an account-wide plan, not a per-pet add-on. The in-app upgrade card says it directly: "Premium upgrades all active pets on your account, not just one pet." You can't choose which pets get AI Vet Chat — they all do.
What else Premium includes
Alongside unlimited AI Vet Chat, Premium adds everything in the Tracker Plan plus:

- 2 Certified Vet Chats per month
- Calendar sync
- Pet document library
- Family sharing

Shared pets and family members
If a pet has been shared with you through family sharing, AI Vet Chat runs on the pet owner's Premium plan — not yours. You need the Consultation permission on that pet, but you don't need your own subscription.
The reverse is also true: if you're Premium but the owner of a shared pet isn't, AI Vet Chat won't be available for that pet.
If you're not Premium yet
Tapping Chat with AI Vet shows a card titled Upgrade to Premium with the message "Ask AI Vet about all your pets, anytime." Tap View subscription plans to see your options, or Not now to dismiss it.
