Ask A Vet QR tags are sold in our online shop. This article covers where to find them, what they're like, and what the app does when a pet doesn't have one yet.

Tags are available at askavet.com/collections/id-tags. You'll reach the same place from:

What the tags are like
Our shop describes them as "Smarter Tags. Safer Pets. — Not your average pet tag: these are connected, scannable, and built to bring your pet home faster. Each tag links to a full profile, vet info, and your contact details via QR code and NFC. No app needed."
According to the product listings, the tags are silicone dog and cat ID tags, available as hanging or slide-on, waterproof, with no battery to charge, in small, medium and large.

When the app offers you a tag
If you try to use Lost Mode or open your pet's shareable Pet Page for a pet that has no active QR tag, the app shows: "Your pet doesn't have a QR Tag yet — If your pet ever gets lost, a QR Tag helps anyone instantly contact you and bring them home faster." Tap Buy Now to open the shop or Not now to go back.
Do I need a subscription?
No. QR tags work on every plan, including the free one. You buy the physical tag once and activating it in the app costs nothing extra.
Tip: Already have an Ask A Vet GPS tracker? The QR code on the tracker works as a pet ID tag, so you may not need a separate tag at all.
