Ask A Vet doesn't have a notification-preferences screen at the moment — there's no list of alert types with switches next to them. That doesn't mean you have no control, though. Here's everything you can change today.

On your phone
Android gives you the most control.
| Phone | What you can control |
|---|---|
| Android | Seven categories you can switch on and off individually in your phone's settings: General, Tracker Alarms, Telehealth Appointments, Family Invitations, Family Updates, QR Tag Scans and App & Device Updates. |
| iPhone | All-or-nothing — notifications for Ask A Vet are either on or off. You can still choose how they're delivered (banners, sounds, lock screen, quiet delivery) in your phone's settings. |
In your pet's tracker settings
The alerts most people want to fine-tune all live under the pet's GPS tracker → Settings, not in app Settings:
- Temperature alerts — separate Cold alert and Hot alert switches, each with your own threshold in °C.
- Barking alerts — sensitivity and the schedule of when you want to be alerted (dogs only).
- Virtual fence — you only get zone alerts for areas you've marked yourself, so removing a zone removes its alerts.
In your calendar
Each event has its own reminder setting. Choose Never when you don't want to be notified about that event.
In Family Sharing
If you're a pet owner, the permissions you give each family member decide what they're notified about. Location Tracking controls whether they get zone and hazard alerts for shared pets; Calendar controls whether they get event reminders.
For emails
Every email from Ask A Vet has an Unsubscribe link in its footer, in the line "Unsubscribe from non-essential updates."
Please note: Turning a category off on your phone only stops the pop-up. For the alert types the in-app Notifications screen carries, the alert is still recorded and still shows up there. Chat messages, consultation alerts and subscription alerts aren't listed on that screen, so muting their category means you won't see them at all.
[CONFIRM: whether a per-notification-type preference screen is planned, and roughly when — so this article can point customers at it.]
