Short answers to the questions we're asked most about the Calendar and event reminders.
Events and repeats
Which event types can I create? Twelve: Buy Food, Give Food, Buy Medicine, Give Medicine, Worm Treatment, Flea Treatment, Tick Treatment, Vaccination, Food Trial, Allergy Diary, Food Diary and Feaces Diary. Food Diary and Feaces Diary currently fail to save — see "'Failed to create event' when I try to save".
How far ahead does a repeating event go? The event you create plus 30 future occurrences. A weekly repeat gives you roughly seven months of dates.
Can I repeat by minutes or months? No. The Repeat picker offers Hours (0–23), Days (0–30) and Weeks (0–52). Choose 0 for a one-off event.
Does the per-pet Calendar only show that pet's events? No. Even opened from one pet's profile, the day's Events list shows every event across all your pets and the pets shared with you.
Is there a limit on how many events I can create? No limit is applied in the app. [CONFIRM: whether a per-account or per-pet event limit is intended]
Reminders
Why didn't I get a reminder? New events default to No reminder. Check the event's Reminder before event setting first — full steps in "I'm not getting event reminder notifications".
When can a reminder be sent? At start, or 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour or 1 day before the event time.
Will I get the same reminder twice? No — one reminder per event, and it isn't repeated for 24 hours. Editing the date, time or reminder schedules a fresh one.
Do family members get reminders too? Yes, in their own timezone, as long as they have the calendar permission on that pet.
What happens if I cancel the event? The reminder goes with it.
Attachments and Documents
What can I attach to an event? Images (JPEG, PNG, HEIC/HEIF, WebP, GIF), PDF, Word, Excel and CSV — up to 100 MB per file. Audio and video can't be attached to an event.
Where do the attached files end up? They stay on the event and are also copied into that pet's Documents library, filed by event type. See "How files on a calendar event end up in Documents".
How do I remove a document that came from an event? Remove the file from the event — that takes the document out of the library too.
Plans, sync and privacy
Do I need a subscription to use the Calendar? Creating events needs an active Premium plan. For what each plan includes, see the Subscription & Billing section of this help center.
Can I sync my events to Google Calendar or Apple Calendar? Not today. Ask A Vet events live in the app's own Calendar. [CONFIRM: whether external calendar sync is on the roadmap, and whether to say so here]
Can I create an event that isn't tied to a pet? No. Pet Name is a required field on the event form, so every event you create belongs to one of your pets.
What happens to my events if I delete my account? All of your calendar events are deleted with it.
