Ask A Vet shows an "access restricted" message when an action needs a permission you don't currently have on that pet. They're easy to resolve — usually with one tap from the pet's owner.

"Edit access restricted"
The full message reads: "You don't have permission to update this pet's information. Please contact the pet owner for access."
This pet is shared with you and your edit permission is switched off. It blocks adding, editing and analysing documents.
Fix: ask the pet's owner to switch your edit permission back on. See the Family Sharing section of this help center for how they do that.
Please note: All family permissions are switched on by default when someone joins a family, so this only appears if the owner changed them.
"Calendar access restricted"
The full message reads: "You don't have permission to view or manage this pet's calendar events. Please contact the pet owner for access."
Your calendar permission on that pet is switched off. That stops you seeing, creating, editing and cancelling its events — and it also stops you receiving that pet's event reminder notifications.
Fix: ask the pet's owner to switch your calendar permission on.
"Access restricted" with no detail, after tapping Delete
You tapped Delete document on a document that came from a calendar event. Those can't be deleted from the library — remove the file from the event instead. Full steps are in "Why can't I delete this document?".
No Delete option at all
Only the pet's owner can delete documents. Family members never see the option, whatever their permissions.
"You no longer have access to this pet"
You've been removed from the family that owns this pet, or the pet is no longer shared with you. Ask the owner to share it again.
Something isn't found
If a document or an event you had a link to reports that it can't be found, it's usually because the pet is no longer accessible to your account — for privacy, Ask A Vet doesn't confirm whether a pet you can't reach exists. Check the pet still appears in your pet list.
When to contact support
If the pet's owner confirms your permissions are on, you've fully closed and reopened the app, and you're still blocked, contact the Ask A Vet support team with the pet's name and the exact message you see. [CONFIRM: support contact channel — email address and/or in-app support route]
