Deleting your account closes the family you own as well. It's worth knowing exactly what your family members lose before you go ahead, because none of it can be undone.
The family you own
Your family is dissolved:
- Every pet you shared is un-shared.
- Every member is detached from the family.
- The family itself is closed and stops appearing for anyone.
Your former members lose access to your pets immediately — the pets leave their pet lists, along with those pets' records, events and trackers.
Pets other people shared into your family
Nothing of theirs is lost. Anything a member had shared into your family is released back to them and stays on their own account. They can share it into another family later if they want to.
Families you joined
Your memberships in other people's families are removed too. You disappear from their My family list, and any pet you had shared into those families stops being shared with them.
Invitations you sent
Any invitation still waiting for a reply stops working. If someone tries the code afterwards they'll see "This invitation is no longer available."
Important: Account deletion can't be reversed, and family membership can't be restored afterwards. A new account starts with an empty family — everyone would need to be invited again from scratch.
Before you delete
If your goal is just to stop sharing rather than to close your account:
- Stop sharing individual pets from the Shared pets tab.
- Remove individual members from the My family tab.
- Leave any families you joined from the Joined families tab.
All three are free and reversible, and they leave your account and your pets' history intact.
