Inviting a partner, family member or pet sitter takes about a minute. You invite them by email address, and they get a 6-digit code they can enter in their own Ask A Vet app.
Before you start
- You need an active Tracker Plan or Premium subscription.
- The person you're inviting must already have an Ask A Vet account. The email you type has to be the exact address they signed up with.
Send the invitation
- Open Settings → Family Sharing.
- Stay on the My family tab.
- Tap Invite family member at the bottom of the screen.
- On the Invite to your family screen, type their email address under Enter their email address.
- Wait a moment — the app checks the address as you type and shows Account found. Ready to send an invite. in green.
- Tap Send invite.
You'll see the confirmation "Your family invitation has been sent successfully 🎉" and go back to your family.
Please note: The Send invite button stays greyed out until the address matches an existing Ask A Vet account. If it shows "No account found. They need to sign up first.", see the troubleshooting article below.
If they don't have an account yet
The invite screen has a card headed Don't have an account yet? — "Share the app link with them so they can create an account first, then come back to send the invite." Tap Share app link to send them a download link and a short explanation. Once they've signed up, come back and invite the address they used.
What happens next
Your invitee receives the code in three places:

Until they respond, they appear in My family under Pending invitations, showing their email address.
Resending or cancelling
Open the pending person from My family:
- Re-send invitation sends the reminder again. You'll see "Your invitation has been resent successfully."
- The trash icon cancels it — confirm at "Cancel invitation?" / "This will cancel the pending family invitation." by tapping Cancel invitation.
Tip: Resending keeps the same 6-digit code, so a code you already read out to someone stays valid. You can resend once every 60 seconds, up to 5 times per person per day.
You'll get a push notification when they accept ("{Name} joined your family") or decline.
