Reported something by mistake, or the hazard has been cleaned up? You can take your own report off the map yourself.
Step-by-step
- Open the GPS Tracker map and tap the red pin for your report.
- Scroll to the bottom of the hazard sheet.
- Tap Remove my report.
You'll see "Your report has been removed." If it doesn't go through you'll see "We couldn't remove your report. Please try again." — check your connection and tap it again.
If you can't see the button
Remove my report only appears when both of these are true:
- You are the person who submitted the report. Nobody else can remove it.
- The report hasn't already been cleared. Once two owners have voted It's gone, or you've already removed it yourself, the button is hidden — there's nothing left to remove.
What removal actually does
The report stops appearing on the map and stops warning anyone straight away.
Please note: Removing is not deleting. Anyone who already has a notification or a link for that report can still open it — they'll just see it marked as cleared. Nobody new is warned.
You can't edit a report
There's no way to change a report after it's submitted. If you picked the wrong category, wrote the wrong description or dropped the pin in the wrong place, remove it and submit a fresh one. See How to report a danger in the app.
Somebody else's report is wrong
You can't remove another person's report, and you don't need to. Open it and tap It's gone — two owners agreeing clears it automatically. See How to confirm or clear a danger report.
Important: There's currently no way to flag an abusive or deliberately false report to Ask A Vet from inside the app. [CONFIRM: how owners should escalate an abusive or false danger report, and who handles it]
If you delete your Ask A Vet account
Your hazard reports stay on the map, with no name attached to them. Hazard information is deliberately kept for the community even after an account goes away. If you want a report gone, remove it before you delete your account.
