The danger map only works because owners keep it honest. If you walk past a reported hazard, one tap tells everybody else whether it's still a problem.
How to vote
- Open the hazard — tap its red pin on the GPS Tracker map, or tap a hazard notification and then View danger.
- In the sheet, find the question Is the danger still here?
- Tap Still here or It's gone.
Please note: The colours describe the world, not your action. Still here is red because a hazard is still there. It's gone is green because the coast is clear. Neither is a "good" or "bad" button.
What the meter and counter mean
Under the question you'll see a five-segment green meter and a "{n} to clear" counter.
- The meter fills up one segment for each Still here confirmation the report has received, so a full meter means lots of owners agree it's real.
- The counter and the helper line — "It takes {n} more "gone" vote(s) to remove the pin automatically." — tell you how many more people need to say it's gone before the pin disappears by itself.
What each vote actually does
| Vote | What it does |
|---|---|
| Still here | Extends the report's life. The clock restarts from your vote, and once two different people have confirmed it, the report gets a much longer window. See How long does a danger report stay on the map? |
| It's gone | Counts towards removal. Two "gone" votes from two different people retire the report on the spot |
One vote per person
Everyone gets a single vote per report, so nobody can stack votes to push a hazard up or down. After you vote, the question disappears and is replaced by a one-line thank-you:
- "Thanks — you confirmed it's still there, so we'll keep warning nearby pet owners."
- "Thanks — we'll take it off the map once one more person agrees it's gone."
If the report has already been retired, the sheet shows "This danger has been cleared and no longer warns nearby pet owners." instead of the question.
If your vote won't save
If your vote can't be recorded you'll see "We couldn't record your vote. Please try again." Check your connection and tap the button once more — voting needs the internet, but it does not need your tracker to be online.
Tip: Wrong or out-of-date report from someone else? Don't worry about reporting the person — just tap It's gone. Two owners agreeing is all it takes to clear it.
