Great news. Turning Lost Mode off takes two taps, and everything you filled in stays saved in case you ever need it again.
Step-by-step
- Open your pet and go to the Safety tab.
- In the Lost Mode row, tap Mark found. (You can also tap the … menu on the pet and choose Mark as found.)
- A full-screen confirmation appears with your pet's photo: "Have you found {your pet's name}?" and "Confirming this will mark {your pet's name} as found and end the lost pet status."
- Tap Yes, I found my pet. If you tapped by mistake, tap No, close.
You'll see the confirmation "Great news! Pet has been marked as found."
What happens next
- The lost status and the missing date are cleared.
- The red lost badge disappears from your pet's card in your pets list.
- Your pet's public QR tag page goes back to the green Hi there! badge.
- Scan alerts stop. Scans of your pet's tag are still saved to their history, but you're no longer notified about each one.
Please note: Everything you entered on the lost report — microchip number, allergies, medications, vet clinic, behaviour — stays saved on your pet. If you ever have to report them lost again, the form is already filled in.
If it doesn't work
If you see "Failed to mark pet as found", try this:
- Go back to your pets list.
- Open the pet again from there.
- Try Mark found once more.
This usually happens when the pet screen was opened directly from a link or a notification rather than from your pets list, so the app doesn't have the pet's details loaded yet. Opening it the normal way fixes it.
If you see a message titled Edit access restricted instead, the pet is shared with you and you don't have permission to change it — see I can't report my pet lost or mark them found.
