You start the Separation Anxiety Monitor from your pet's map screen just before you head out, and stop it when you're back together. Here's exactly where the buttons are.
Before you start
- Your tracker has to be reachable — over mobile signal or over Bluetooth — for the Monitor to be started.
- The tracker has to be paired with a pet. If it isn't, you'll see "This tracker is not bound to a pet."
Please note: Only one Separation Anxiety Monitor session can run per tracker at a time. If you try to start a second one you'll see "Separation Anxiety Monitor is already running".
Start a session
- Open your pet's profile and go to the map screen.
- Tap the + button.
- Choose Monitor separation anxiety.
- Read the intro screen, then tap Monitor now.
That's it — you'll see a pill on the map reading Separation Anxiety Monitor is on with a pulsing icon, and the Monitor separation anxiety entry disappears from the + menu until the session ends.
Tip: Start the Monitor once your dog is actually alone. The app's own guidance is: "Start the Monitor from the Map screen. Tap the '+' symbol and choose "Monitor Separation Anxiety" when your dog is alone."
Stop a session
- Go back to your pet's map screen.
- Tap the round red stop button at the top of the buttons on the right-hand side.
- Confirm at "Stop Separation Anxiety Monitor?" — "This means you and {pet} are together again. You will only be notified later if the tracker detected signs of separation anxiety."
- Tap Stop.
A confirmation appears: Separation Anxiety Monitor stopped.
If you forget to stop it
A session that's left running finishes automatically after 24 hours, and bark detection is switched back off if the Monitor was the thing that switched it on.
Good to know
- While the Monitor runs, bark detection is switched on for you so barking can be counted, and switched back off afterwards.
- Alerts are sent to you and to family members who have permission to track your pet's location.
