Archiving tidies a finished conversation out of your main list without deleting it. Here's how to archive one and how to get back to it later.
Before you start
Archiving works on chats that have ended, expired or been cancelled. If you try it on one that's still running you'll see Can't archive yet, with either:
- "This consultation is still ongoing. You can archive it once it ends." — end the chat first, or
- "This consultation is still pending. You can archive it once it's completed or cancelled." — cancel the request or wait for a vet to pick it up
Step-by-step
- Open the Consults tab and switch to Vet Chats.
- Swipe the chat's card to the left.
- Tap the archive icon.
- Confirm on the card: Archive this item? — "It'll be hidden from your list. You can find it later under the Archived filter." Tap Archive.
You'll see "This conversation has been archived successfully." If it doesn't work you'll get "We couldn't archive this conversation right now. Please try again." — check your connection and try again.
How to find archived chats again
Switch the Vet Chats filter to Archived. Archived conversations also still appear under the All filter, labelled Archived.
Please note: there's currently no way to move an archived chat back into your main list from the app — it stays available under the Archived filter.
Archiving is personal to you
Archiving only changes your view. It doesn't delete the conversation, doesn't remove the summary, and doesn't affect what your vet or anyone else in your family sees.
