Every vet chat you've had stays in the app, along with a written summary of what was discussed. Here's how to find them.
Your full list
- Open the Consults tab.
- Switch to Vet Chats. Your consultations are listed with the most recent activity first, up to 50 conversations.
- Use the filter row to narrow it down: All (the default), Waiting, Ongoing, Ended, Expired or Archived.
One pet's history
Open the pet's profile and tap Consults → Chats with Vet to see only that pet's conversations, along with how many included chats you have left this month.
What the rows tell you
The status line under each chat changes with its state:
| Chat state | The status line reads |
|---|---|
| Waiting | Your question, or "Waiting for a veterinarian" |
| Ongoing | The latest message, "\<name> is typing…", "\<name> sent a photo", or "Consultation in progress" |
| Ended | "This chat was ended" |
| Expired | "This chat expired after 24 hours" |
| Cancelled | "This chat was cancelled" |
| Archived | "Archived" |
Tapping a row takes you to the right screen automatically: Waiting for a Vet if it hasn't been picked up, the live chat if it's ongoing, or the Chat summary if it's finished.
The Chat summary screen
Finished conversations open on Chat summary, with two tabs:
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Chat details | Pet, Vet, Owner, Topic, Duration of Chat, Total messages, Attachments, and a status pill reading Ended, Closed or Expired |
| Summary | The written Conversation summary with Copy and Share, your original question, and all the attachments from the conversation |
Please note: Total messages counts only real messages between you and your vet — automatic notes like "has joined the chat" aren't included. Duration of Chat is measured from the moment your vet joined to the moment the chat ended.
If a list won't load
You'll see Something went wrong — "Couldn't load chats. Pull down to refresh." Do exactly that: pull the list down to try again. If you've never had a vet chat you'll see No vet chats yet instead, with a Chat with Vet button.
Tip: photos and files you exchanged also live in the pet's document library, so you can find them without opening the conversation.
