The GPS Tracker map packs a lot into a few small labels. Here's a guide to every chip, marker label, circle and banner you might see, so you can read your pet's map at a glance.

The chips at the top of the map
| Chip | What you'll see |
|---|---|
| GPS chip | No signal, Weak, Average, Strong, Excellent, Approximate, Proximity or Unknown. It's hidden entirely inside a Power Saving Zone, because GPS is switched off there on purpose. |
| Work mode chip | Normal mode, Power-saving mode, Updating firmware, Stopping…, or a live countdown (for example 4:32) while LIVE Tracking is running. |
| Tracker is offline | When the tracker can't be reached at all, all of the above collapses into this single chip. |
Tip: tapping any chip opens the Tracker status sheet, which explains the current state — and glosses each term. For example, Proximity: "Your tracker is nearby. The location comes from your phone's direct Bluetooth link, so it's accurate and easy on the battery."
The labels on your pet's marker
When more than one applies, they rotate every five seconds:
- Here with the name of the safe zone your pet is in
- Power saving with the name of the trusted Wi-Fi network (both of these show together when both apply)
- GPS signal is weak
- Last seen · 12m ago — the position's source has gone stale
- During LIVE Tracking: Here for, Speed, Heading and Altitude
Please note: Speed, Heading and Altitude only appear while your pet is actually moving — at or above 1 km/h.
The blue circle around the pin
The blue "approximate area" circle appears when the position is an estimate rather than a precise GPS fix — that is, for mast-based, Wi-Fi and zone-centre positions. It doesn't appear for Bluetooth (Proximity) positions, and it's hidden inside a Power Saving Zone.
You can also turn on Show accuracy in map settings to see a ring around precise GPS fixes too.
The banners across the map
| Banner | What it says |
|---|---|
| Waiting for tracker location | "Your tracker hasn't sent a location yet — {pet} will appear on the map as soon as it does." |
| GPS signal lost | "Your tracker has temporarily lost its GPS signal. The last known location is shown and will update automatically once GPS is available again." |
| Tracker offline, Tracker disconnected or Weak network signal | Connection problems. |
| Approximate location | "Around {address} — approximate location", shown when the pin comes from the centre of a zone. |
| GPS signal unavailable | "Location is currently estimated using nearby cell towers and may be less accurate than GPS." |
