When your question has been answered, you can close the conversation yourself — and you'll get a written summary of everything that was discussed.
Step-by-step
- Tap End Chat in the chat header.
- Confirm on the card: End this chat? — "Once ended, the conversation can no longer be continued, but you'll still be able to view it."
- Tap End Chat, or Cancel to keep talking.
A note is added to the conversation — "This chat has been ended." — and the chat becomes read-only.
What you get afterwards
A written summary of the conversation is generated and saved: a short recap covering the main health concern, key observations, the advice you were given, any follow-up actions, and the outcome.
You're taken to the Chat summary screen, headed Consultation complete, with two tabs:
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Chat details | Pet, vet, owner, topic, duration, total messages, attachments and a status pill |
| Summary | The conversation summary with Copy and Share, your original question, and every attachment |
Your vet can end it too
Either side can close the conversation. If your vet ends it, you'll get an email titled "Your chat with \<Dr. Vet> has ended", with View summary and Start a new chat buttons. When you're the one who ends it, your vet is notified instead.
You don't have to end it manually
If neither of you sends a message for 24 hours the chat closes itself and a summary is generated the same way.
If ending fails
You'll see "Failed to end chat. Please try again." Check your connection and try once more.
Please note: an ended chat can't be reopened. To ask a new question about the same pet, start a new vet chat — which uses another one of your 2 included chats.
