A photo of a rash, a video of a limp, or a PDF from your local clinic often tells a vet more than a paragraph can. Here's what you can send, and where.

Attaching photos when you book
On the Your question screen, tap Add photos under Attach photos (optional).
| Limit | What you'll see if you go over it |
|---|---|
| Up to 5 photos, shown as a "\<n>/5" counter | "You can attach up to 5 photos." |
| JPG, PNG or HEIC only | "Only JPG, PNG, or HEIC photos are supported." |
| 10 MB maximum per photo | "File size exceeds 10 MB. Please select a smaller file." |
Photos come from your photo library on this screen; there's no camera option until you're inside the chat.
HEIC photos from an iPhone are converted automatically. If that ever fails you'll see "HEIC conversion failed." — retake or re-export the photo as a JPG and try again.
When you tap Send to Vet the button changes to Uploading photos while your attachments go up.
Attaching things inside a live chat
Tap the + next to the message box to open the attachment sheet, which offers:
- Photos & Videos — a camera tile and View Library
- Record an Audio Clip
- Record a Video Clip
- Upload a File
Limits inside a chat
| Limit | What you'll see if you go over it |
|---|---|
| 5 attachments per message in total, across all four options | The sheet shows "\<n> / 5 selected" and blocks further picks with "Maximum 5 attachments per message. Remove one to add another." |
| 100 MB maximum per file | "File is too large (max 100 MB)." |
| Videos: 2 minutes maximum | "Video is too long (max 2 min)." |
| Audio: 5 minutes maximum | "Audio is too long (max 5 min)." |
File types you can send in a chat
JPEG, PNG, GIF, WEBP, HEIC/HEIF, PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TXT, CSV, MP4, MOV, MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC and ZIP. Anything else is rejected with "This file type isn't supported."
Everything you send is saved to your pet
Files and photos you exchange in a vet chat are added to that pet's document library automatically, so you can find them again later without digging through old conversations.
Please note: documents that arrived from a chat can't be deleted from the pet's document library.
If a message won't send
You'll see Send failed — "Could not send the message. Please try again." Your text and attachments are put back so nothing is lost. Check your connection and tap send again.
