Seeing "Something went wrong. Please try again."? It looks alarming, but it's almost always temporary — and more often than not it clears on the second try.
What the message actually means
This is the app's catch-all message. When something fails and there's no more specific explanation to show you, the app falls back to this wording. So it isn't one single problem — it covers everything from a dropped connection to a request that didn't complete.
You'll see the same idea worded slightly differently depending on where you are:
| Where you see it | What it says |
|---|---|
| Sign-up | "Something went wrong. Please try again later." |
| Chats and Calls lists | Something went wrong, with "Couldn't load chats. Pull down to refresh." and a Retry button |
| Scanning a QR tag | "Something went wrong checking this QR tag. Please try again." |
| Attaching a photo or video | "Something went wrong while uploading." |
Please note: the most common cause is your internet connection. The app doesn't show a separate "you're offline" banner, so a lost or weak connection surfaces as this same generic message rather than telling you directly.
What to check first
- Confirm you actually have signal or Wi-Fi. Open any website in your browser — if that fails too, it's your connection, not the app.
- Switch Airplane mode on for five seconds, then off again. This forces your phone to reconnect.
- If you're on Wi-Fi, try mobile data instead (or the other way round). Hotel, café and workplace networks often block app traffic.
- Tap the button again.
Tip: screens that load information retry on their own a couple of times before giving up, but anything you submit — booking a consult, sending a family invite — doesn't retry by itself, so a second tap is genuinely worth it.
If it comes back
- On a list screen, pull down to refresh or tap Retry.
- Close the app fully and reopen it.
- Check your version under Settings → About us, and update from the App Store or Google Play if a newer one is available.
- Give it a few minutes and try once more — a one-off hiccup often won't repeat.
If it still doesn't work
Send us a report from Settings → Help. Because the message is deliberately generic, the useful details are the ones only you have: what you were doing when it appeared, which screen you were on, and a screenshot if you can manage one.
