How to set up a Power Saving Zone

Adding your home WiFi as a Power Saving Zone takes a couple of minutes and helps your pet's tracker last longer between charges. There are two ways to add the network — let your tracker find it, or type the name in yourself.

Start here

  1. Open your pet's profile → GPS tracker settings → Power saving zones.
  2. Tap Add new power saving zone (or Add power-saving zone if you already have one).

Option A — let your tracker find the network

If your tracker is online and up to date, the app opens Select your Wi-Fi network and asks the tracker to look around:

"Scanning for WiFi — Your GPS tracker is scanning for nearby WiFi networks — not your phone. Keep the tracker powered on near the network you want. This can take up to 20 seconds."

Pick your home network from the list ("We found these networks near your tracker. Select the one your pet's home uses."), or tap Search again. A network you've already saved appears greyed out with Already added.

Important: the scan runs on the tracker, not on your phone. What matters is which networks are in range of the collar — keep the tracker near the router while it scans.

Option B — type the network name yourself

Every screen also offers Add network manually. On the Add a power-saving zone form:

  1. Enter the WiFi name (SSID) — up to 50 characters.
  2. Enter a Zone name like Home or Office — up to 50 characters.

Important: "Type the WiFi name exactly as it appears, including capital letters." Your tracker matches the name character for character, so MyHomeWiFi and myhomewifi are not the same network. Autocorrect and auto-capitalisation are switched off in this field on purpose.

Neither field can contain quote marks, tabs or line breaks — those characters can't be sent to the tracker.

Name the zone and pin it on the map

If the network came from the tracker's scan, you're asked to Name this zone — "Give this WiFi network a name you'll recognise, like Home or Office."

Then you'll land on Choose location:

"Pin this zone's location — When your tracker detects this zone's WiFi, your pet's pin will show at this exact spot — more accurate and battery-friendly."

  1. Drop the pin on the right building.
  2. Tap Save zone.

Done

You'll see "Power-saving zone saved — Your tracker will switch to power-saving mode whenever it detects this WiFi network." Tap Close to go back to your zone list, where the new zone syncs to the collar.
