When you're finished with a conversation, ending it saves everything and produces a tidy summary you can read back, copy or share. It also frees up that pet so you can start a fresh chat later.
How to end a chat
- In the chat header, tap End.
- On the End chat? card — "Ending this session will save your conversation and generate a summary." — tap End session.
- Choose Continue chat instead if you changed your mind.
A note is added to the conversation ("This AI chat has been ended.") and the chat becomes read-only. You land on the Chat summary screen, headed Conversation saved — "You can review the details or view a summary below."
The Chat summary screen
It has two tabs.
Chat details
A card with your pet's details, plus:

Summary
A Conversation summary card with Copy and Share actions, plus a card flagging which of your files AI Vet was able to analyse.
Tapping Copy shows "The summary has been copied to your clipboard ✅" — handy if you're heading to your own vet and want to paste the background into an email.
Please note: if the summary can't be loaded you'll see "We couldn't load this conversation's summary right now." Go back and reopen the chat from the AI Chats list to try again.
After a chat has ended
Ended chats are read-only. Opening one from your chat list takes you to the Chat summary screen rather than the conversation — you can read everything, but you can't add a message.
To keep asking questions, start a new AI chat for the same pet.

Who can end a chat
Only the person who started an AI chat can end it. If a pet is shared with your family, another member can't close a conversation you opened.
