The app can show you veterinary clinics around your current position, with opening hours, a phone number and directions. It takes about ten seconds to find one.
Before you start
Allow location access when the app asks for it. The clinic search is centred on your current position, so the screen can't show clinics without it.
Step-by-step
- From Home, tap the pet you're looking for a clinic for.
- Open the Safety tab.
- Tap the Clinics row — "Nearest clinics for your pet".
- Switch between the List and Map tabs at the top.
- Tap a Search radius chip to widen or narrow the search. Your detected address is shown just above the chips.
- Tap a clinic in the list, or a pin on the map, to open its details.
Available radius options are 250m, 500m, 1km, 2km, 5km, 10km, 25km and 50km. The default is 2km. Results appear under Search results:.
What's in a clinic's details
A detail sheet slides up showing:
- The clinic name and the label Veterinary care
- A button showing the distance and estimated drive time — tap it to open directions in Google Maps
- Hours — the weekly opening hours and whether it's open now
- Details — a phone number you can tap to call, and the clinic's website
Tip: save your nearest emergency clinic's number to your phone contacts now, so you're not searching for it in a hurry later.
Good to know
Please note: clinic listings, hours, phone numbers and websites come from Google Places — they are published by the clinics themselves. This is not an Ask A Vet-curated or endorsed directory, so please confirm hours before travelling.
In an emergency
Important: in an emergency, go straight to an emergency vet. Don't rely on the app to find one for you.
